Subject	started up the TT today- problems

Message	so i turned over my newly converted NA>TT today, and there are some problems. it started up pretty much immediately, but there is a HORRIBLE screeching sound from the moment i turn the key and it continues even while its running. it sounds like the starter is staying engaged. there dont seem to be any significant vacuum leaks, so thats good. the idle stays at about 1k then drops down to about 800 - good. there was some smoke coming up in the engine bay but i hear thats normal. the main thing is the screeching sound. advice would be great. -Andrew '90 Aztec Red NA AIM: revescenin OR epsilaptop
